Nursing School waiting lists - why waiting for your dream school is a mistake
Many students have their hearts set on a specific nursing school, and they are so set on their dream school that they only apply there. They study, they get good grades, they volunteer at a hospital or nursing home or get a CNA license, and they think that will be enough to get them into the right nursing school.Unfortunately this is no longer the case. The bad economy is making it harder and harder to get into nursing school, because everyone is rushing to apply. Many nursing schools have waiting lists that are four or five years long. No matter how good your grades are, no matter how much you want to get into a particular nursing school, it makes sense to apply to several programs as a backup. If not you could find yourself shut out of nursing school year after year while the waiting lists only get longer and your dream get farther out of reach.
