Why Waiting For The Best Nursing School Is A Mistake

Many students at first have the natural inclination to get into the best nursing school they can find in their area, and they are so set on the top nursing school that they only apply there. They study, they get good grades, they volunteer at a hospital or nursing home or get a CNA license, and they think that will be enough to get them into the right nursing school. Unfortunately this is no longer the case.

The bad economy is making it harder and harder to get into any nursing school – let alone the best nursing school – because everyone is rushing to apply. Many top nursing schools have waiting lists that are four or five years long. No matter how good your grades are, no matter how much you want to get into a particular nursing school, it makes sense to apply to several programs at different schools as a backup. If not, you could find yourself shut out of nursing school year after year while the waiting lists only get longer and longer at the best nursing schools in your area.
